Hot and Hotter!

Well, much to our dismay, our excitement about the mowing dissipated after we saw the mower stuck in the mud after the 3rd pass around the field. So, the weeds are still there...and the mower is quite embarrassed! Well, at least we have "a bit" of a fire break...the fire would probably laugh!

The weather today seemed to draw everyone to the barn early...It looked like a horse show in the jumping arena...it was great practice for "Patience", the baby. She was quite interested in what everyone was doing out there...but loved the company. The evening actually ended up being the nicest time to ride...it cooled off, with a nice breeze and the arena was fairly empty...except for the two BOSS mares sizing each other up (Tam and Shenandoah). We kept them in opposite corners...neither Cara nor I wanted to view a middleweight Prize Fight!

Tommorow there is a tack swap and dressage show at Pacific Equestrian Center. Of course I'll be there...shopping and scribing...I'm sure I'll buy something I don't "need", but it'll be a great deal, right???

Fire Prevention Efforts

Today we sighed a breath of relief as we heard the sound of a lawn tractor working next door. Surprise, surprise...after our fire scare, the neighbors seem to be motivated to do a little weed control. Although...poor guy...decided to mow in the blazing heat of the afternoon! As far as our efforts to be more fire prevention saavy, be on the lookout in the next few days for three new fire extinguishers mounted around the barn... please familiarize yourself with their locations, just in case... although we hope we will never need to use them!

Hello Everyone!

We are trying to bring the Lucky B Ranch into the 21st Century, update you on the exciting activities we are all participating in...and provide a way to update you with information that might be important when we are not available by phone (ahem--fire).
